Machine Learning for Venture Capital

About Me & Why I Blog

Last updated on

Hey!

I'm Ludde 🙂

I'm currently a Machine Learning Engineer at Earlybird Venture Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Berlin. During the fall, I will be living and working from Paris.

The posts will mainly cover data and machine learning in venture capital (as alluded to by the title of the blog), as that is something that I can give a qualified opinion on. However, there will also be a healthy mix of posts covering other topics (such as book reviews, deep-dives on other topics such as developing authority etc.)

Why blog? The answer is three-fold:

  1. I'm in a unique position as a machine learning practitioner in the venture capital industry. Many people do machine learning, many are in VC. Very few people, however, are in the intersection between the two. Meaning that I can provide a unique perspective on the topic (thanks to Eric Hansander for pointing out the venn-diagram reference)
  2. I think about topics anyways. Why not just think, note it down, and post it here?
  3. It increases visibility of my work. Matthew Rocklin comments on this in Write Short Blogposts. For me it is connected to my first point above. Given the unique position I'm in, I can shed light on a rather new and exciting application of machine learning

The posts themselves will serve as living posts, in the sense that I will update them when I have additional thoughts about the subject.
